Banner Homes’ age-exclusive development for the active over-50s, Clarence Court in desirable Wendover, Bucks, is exceeding all expectations when it comes to sales. No less than 50% of the spacious homes sold out at the launch alone and now only six of the 16 properties remain available. The build programme is well on schedule and racing towards completion, so there’s not a minute to lose if you’re interested in purchasing.
And there’s another good reason to take advantage while there’s time because Banner’s Advantage Collection is currently available at Clarence Court. From kitchen appliances to fireplaces, this popular scheme allows customers to personalise their new property with a tempting range of options.
The first purchaser at Clarence Court, Mrs Hawkey, who is now the proud owner of a brand new one-bedroom apartment at Clarence Court, received a voucher for £250 from Banner to spend on the items from the Advantage Collection. Says Mrs Hawkey, “I am delighted with the voucher and I’ve decided to put this money towards a new fireplace. Clarence Court is perfect for me and was just what I was looking for. It has the perfect setting and lovely views onto the courtyard and I can’t wait to move in!”
Piers Banfield, Banner Homes Sales & Marketing Director comments, “Clarence Court provides an ideal environment for those wishing to relax and enjoy the finer things of life. Many people wish to down-size from larger family homes when they retire, but here they don’t have to compromise on spaciousness, comfort or specification. It’s small wonder the development has been such a runaway success, especially with the Advantage Collection on offer.”
Clarence Court comprises the North Wing with its collection of one and two-bedroom apartments, and the South Wing which is made up of 5 two and three-bedroom cottages around a courtyard setting. Situated in the Chiltern Hills, the development is ideally placed for walking, tennis, cricket and bowls clubs.
Prices range from £295,000 – £355,000. To find out more about the remaining properties at Clarence Court, please call, the sales advisor at Brown & Merry on 01296 624444 or alternatively please visit the Banner Homes website at www.bannerhomes.co.uk

As Banner Homes’ superb The Deans development in Chandlers Ford, Hants, gathers momentum, we look at the benefits of buying off-plan.
The Deans development has been attracting high levels of interest since Banner Homes purchased the prime piece of land a few months ago. Although there is no show home at present, properties are being sold off-plan. Some people naturally shy away from buying anything they can’t actually see, but when it comes to new build properties, those in the know view getting in early as a real bonus.
We asked Nicki Dennis, Head of Sales & Marketing for Banner Homes Wessex, what motivates people to buy off-plan. She replies, “In our experience, customers who purchase off plan tend to have already looked at existing properties both new and second hand. From those viewings they establish a list of the most important design features and specification items to meet their needs. Having done this, when presented with a comprehensive brochure, they are to see if the new home matches up to their requirements, without being able to walk around the actual plot.”
“Then of course there is always the added help of the internet. Generally, our customers take time to go through the Banner website and obtain full details on the company’s customer care ethos, the way to purchase a Banner home and are able to take an ‘internet walk’ through the existing show home. This all helps to give reassurance and answer questions ahead of purchase.”
Another important factor in buying off-plan is that it leaves the purchaser with a great deal more say in how the finished property is going to turn out. If a home hasn’t been built yet, it’s possible to choose aspects like the type of kitchen units that go in, flooring and tiling. Nicki adds, “What that means is that you’re moving into a property that feels just as you want it to straight away, although obviously the degree of choice is influenced by the stage of construction the property is at.”
Of course, for those who simply have to see what they’re buying, there’s always the option of visiting other Banner Homes developments to get a good idea of the attention to detail and classy design that are the hallmarks of its properties.
For those interested in buying off-plan at The Deans, the development consists of 58 luxury two bedroom apartments some reserved exclusively for the over 55’s. Externally, this development blends harmoniously with its surroundings and inside each property features a state-of-the-art modern specification, practical design and attention to detail. The Deans is perfectly placed close to the town centre of the bustling and lively community of Chandlers Ford and is also conveniently located for the New Forest and the Strawberry Coast.
The Deans is approximately 3 miles from the M3, giving direct access to the M25 and London. Southampton International airport is just 7 miles away.
Prices at The Deans start from £195,000. For further information please call the sales office on 02380 262444. Alternatively, please visit Banner Homes’ web site at www.bannerhomes.co.uk

There is something for every life stage at High Point, a Banner Homes development of apartments, and three, four and five bedroom homes with stunning views over the Pendor Valley.
Older generations will enjoy playing golf at the various nearby golf courses and walking though surrounding green belt land, designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
For those with young families, the development is ideally placed for admission to some of the country’s top scoring upper and grammar schools, like Dr Challoners High and Dr Challoner’s Grammar in Amersham, which are both located close to the High Point development. Busy families will also appreciate the handy local shopping facilities including supermarkets and high street stores, all within easy driving distance of High Point.
For the youngest generation, the first time buyers who have jobs in the city yet choose to escape to the countryside at the end of the day, it’s a 50 minute journey into London Baker Street, where there is plenty going on. High Point is 1.5 miles from Chesham Station and close to the M40 at junction 2 and the M25 at junction 18.
Graeme Warren from Chesham agent Christopher Rowland says; “Although buyers at all life stages in the Chesham area are becoming more price conscious, we have continued to see new homes in the region sell well. Seven Banner homes sold at Cedar Close recently and there were five reservations at the launch of High Point. There is a shortage of properties of Banner Homes’ quality in the area, so we predict a strong Autumn market for these new homes.”
The properties at High Point are fitted with everything all age groups could need. Kitchens contain fitted units with integrated stainless steel appliances and recessed downlighters, and several of the houses feature handy utility rooms. Bathrooms contain stylish white sanitary ware and ceramic floor tiles and bedrooms are fitted with individually designed wardrobes. All homes also feature alarm systems and integrated media services for specialist telecom requirements.
Nathan Relton, sales manager for Banner Homes says; “This development really is ideal for purchasers of all ages, from a first time buyer, to a young family with children, to a retired couple looking to downsize from a maintenance-hungry home. There’s something for every life-stage at High Point.”
Prices at High Point range from £214,950 – £599,950. For further information, please contact the sales office open Friday – Monday on 01494 776967. Alternatively, please visit the Banner Homes website at www.bannerhomes.co.uk.

As the UK population increases in age, it seems that ‘downsizing’ to a smaller home is becoming a rite of passage, rather like purchasing a first home, or starting a family. Jeanne and Ted Chapman, both in their 60s, are no exception to the rule when it comes to the rapidly growing trend of downsizing. There are two main benefits, one being the release of equity from selling a larger property, and then of course, there’s the maintenance factor.
The Chapmans have now bought a beautiful one bedroom penthouse apartment at Banner Homes’ 55-plus age-exclusive St Aldhelm’s Place in Poole, Dorset in favour of their former four-bedroom family home in Bournemouth. What’s more, they say they’ve never been happier. Jeanne explains, ”In our case, Ted was always a very keen gardener, but we decided that maintaining a large garden – which we had – was getting too time consuming and strenuous. Here at St Aldhelm’s we get the best of both worlds as there are beautifully manicured maintained gardens where we’re free to stroll around. Now, we get the benefit of a lovely garden without any of the hard work.”
St Aldhelm’s Place comprises two apartment buildings set in a superb landscaped setting in the Branksome Park area of Poole. The development’s landscaping has been specially designed around existing trees and shrubbery to compliment the characteristic pine trees and rhododendrons of this exceptionally popular residential area. A naturally wooded area, walkers can enjoy the delights of Branksome Park. Located just over a mile away are some renowned local beaches, something that Ted likes to take advantage of.
Jeanne continues, “Ted enjoys walking and often ventures off for some fresh air as the beaches aren’t far away.” Poole Harbour itself is just 2 miles away and it goes without saying that the area is hugely popular amongst those with a passion for the sea. In fact, Poole and the surrounding area have one of the highest concentrations of boatyards and marinas in the UK.
Aside from its superb location, St Aldhelm’s place offers homes second to none when it comes to specification, quality build and tasteful yet practical design. Banner developments such as this provide the over 55s with smaller, lower maintenance properties which still retain the prestige which those at this stage in life both expect and demand.
Jeanne adds, “Another factor that was very important to us was security. Here, we feel we have real peace of mind. It’s also a very sociable place; we get on well with all our neighbours. Our three children visit regularly and they too are most impressed with the development. We have no regrets about downsizing. When we met up with some friends recently and they said to us that they hadn’t seen us looking so relaxed in years! It must be St Aldhelm’s Place as we’ve never felt happier or more at ease.”
There are only two, spacious 2 bedroom apartments available at St Aldhelm’s Place and they are both priced at £245,000. For further information, please call the sales office on 01202 769995, open daily from 10am-5pm. Alternatively you can visit the website at www.bannerhomes.co.uk
