Five residential planning permissions in one day
Leading independent house-builder, Banner Homes, is managing to buck the current trend and successfully acquire planning permission for residential developments across the south of England.
March 2010 saw the developer obtain seven separate consents with five of these confirmed on the same day, March 10th, including a 116 unit site in Winslow in Buckinghamshire.
Permission was achieved for residential developments in Kingswood, Burnham, Pinner, Stanmore, Winslow, Midhurst and Winchester; a success rate that is particularly impressive given the present planning challenges faced by house-builders across the country.
Peter Blades, Land Director at Banner Homes Central explains why Banner has succeeded where others have failed:
“We are delighted with the success we have had in March. It is a reflection not only of the hard work of our planning and land teams but of our whole approach to planning. Whilst we are clearly a commercial organisation that seeks to maximise the value of our land assets we are at the same time committed to developing each site sympathetically and to engage the local community at the earliest possible stages. Being open and clear and responsive to suggestions from local stakeholders has gone a long way to ensure a smooth and efficient journey through planning.”
