15 Jan 2010: Record year for Banner Homes’ land team

The land team at Banner Homes has completed 35 deals in 2009 making the year the most successful ever for the High Wycombe based house builder.

The 35 sites acquired span a wide area from the Midlands to the South of England and represent a GDV of over £175 million for Banner.

John Kennedy, Group Land Director at Banner Homes explained why he believes the company has been so successful:

“Banner builds exceptional homes for all sorts of buyers, with prices of our homes ranging from £100,000 up to in excess of £4m, but in every case the needs of the land owner are the same: to maximise the value of their asset and to ensure a smooth and efficient journey through the planning and development process.   Land agents and land owners are turning to Banner because in this market they are seeking a partner with a reputation for maximising land value and delivering quality homes that continue to sell even in the tough market conditions we have faced this year.  We are seen as a secure and successful development partner and our policy of designing homes to fit each specific site rather than imposing a limited palette of house designs across the board not only makes the new homes easier to sell but invariably speeds up the planning process as well.”

Banner Homes has been building since 1975 and has achieved a considerable reputation for developing homes of traditional quality on sites ranging from individual detached houses to developments of 100 dwellings and more. The company operates three regional divisions, Central, Wessex and Midlands, which gives Banner coverage of the whole of the southern half of England. Across the country in 2009 Banner has acquired sites with planning permission in Beech (Hampshire), Birdlip (Gloucestershire), Horsham (West Sussex), Poole (Dorset), Midhurst (Hampshire), two sites in Pedmore (Worcestershire), Blackwell (Worcestershire),  Beaconsfield (Buckinghamshire), two sites in Mill Hill (London), Kingswood (Surrey), Northwood (London), Gerrards Cross (Buckinghamshire), Sunningdale (Berkshire), and Cheam (Surrey). A further 19 sites have been acquired on conditional terms.
